In Luxembourg there are three means of support for the RES technologies: feed-in tariff, subsidies and tax regulation mechanisms. [54] The major instrument is feed-in tariff system which in general is eligible for all of the RES technologies if additional requirements are met. Therefore only installation commissioned after January 2008. For wind parks it is the only one requirement. Solar systems are supported only if capacity does not exceed 1 MW. Biogas power plants capacity shall to be less than 2,5 MW and 5 MW in case of biomass power plants. Biogas systems have to fulfil additional restriction. Power plant have to be commissioned after 1st January 2007. Hydro power plants are eligible if capacity is up to 6 MW. Amount of tariff depends from technology and equals 8,27 €ct/kWh for wind parks, from 37 to 42 €ct/kWh for solar systems, from 8,5 to 10,5 €ct/kWh for hydro power plants, from 12 to 15 €ct/kWh for biogas installations, from 12,5 to 14,5 €ct/kWh for biomass power plants which combust agricultural biomass and from 11 to 13 €ct/kWh if combust wood wastes. That support is eligible for 15 years and for 20 years for renewed or extended biogas power plants. [54] The first subsidy system is eligible only for solar systems which capacity is up to 30 kW. That subsidy is for small producer whose are not interested on profit but only on fed their own loads. The subsidy amount can cover 30% of investment costs however not more than 1 650 €/kW. [54] The second subsidy system is introduced for systems operators which want to profit from energy production. Subsidies are eligible for all technologies and can covers up to 45% of additional costs related with generation energy from the RES. That amount can be increased by 20 percentage points for small enterprises and by 10 percentage points for medium enterprises. [54] Solar systems as the only one type of the RES systems are exempt from income tax if the installation capacity is between 1 and 4 kW. [54] In Luxembourg the RES technologies does not have priority in greed connection however can not be discriminated by the grid operator. The electrical network expansion is subject to the general provisions of the Law on the Organisation of the Electricity Market. [54] Regulation requirements in Luxembourg are Loi du 18.02.2010, RGD 20/04/2009, RGD 8.2.2008 and Circulaire du 23.5.2003. [54]
