Fusion projects

TFTR

Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor - serious the U.S. project - is no longer in operation. However it has contributed to today project of ITER. It achieved fusion power of 10,7 MW and was the first fusion reactor operating with deuterium - tritium fuel. Using this devices scientist achieved the highest temperature of 510 MēC. Although TFTR's technology progress it was not possible to reach break-even state (when fusion energy is sufficient to keep reaction going without external sources). [60]
