Environmental aspects of solar power

The Solar technologies are the most amicable for environment. Moreover in the peoples opinion the solar systems are the most neutral energy source and from those types of power plant, the people the most likely would be feed their own loads.

The PV modules are the cleanest technology of energy production. The most important ecological advantage of PV technology is no emission of CO2. Moreover it does not generate any other air pollution. The only a little amount of CO2 emission is related with cells production (about 21,65g per kWh). The PV cell is easy to recycle and the raw materials can be used again to cells production. [24]

The CSP technologies also produce “green” energy but emit more pollution than PV cells. That emission is caused by Brayton engines (uses sometimes in place of Stirling engine) and caustic properties of molten salt. However in case of accident the fluid may escape from cycle, it is easy to collect them using simply shovel. Moreover there is no problem with social acceptation, because the CSP systems usually are located in warm places with good sun conditions, where not many people lives e.g.: on deserts.
