 Scientific profile

Tomasz Siewierski was born in Lodz, Poland, in 1963. He received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Lodz (TU Lodz) in 1988, and the Ph.D. from the University of Pavia, in 1996. He started his academic career at the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering, TU Lodz, in 1989. From 2001 to 2003 he worked as a Research Fellow at the Strathclyde University, Glasgow, doing research concerning electricity market modelling and simulation. In 2004 he became a Senior Lecture at TU Lodz. His research activity covers the following areas related to the power system and power sector:

  • Design, planning, operation and control of the power system

  • Design, regulation and operation of electricity markets. Power economics

  • Grid integration of renewable energy sources

  • Smart grids

  • Demand site management

  • Programmable Logic Controllers
